Support the School

We teach, inspire, and lead because of caring people like you.

Join our alumni and friends in giving to the School of Architecture.  You’ll reach into every corner of the school, supporting scholarships, research, alumni events, infrastructure, and outreach.  Whatever your passion, there’s a way to express it through giving, and your gift may offer estate-planning or tax advantages.

Outright Gifts

An outright gift transfers an asset directly to the School of Architecture. It may be made with cash, securities, stock, real estate or personal property, and it benefits the school immediately.

Estate and Planned Giving

Planned giving is an exciting way to fulfill philanthropic goals, because it provides not only a gift in support of the School of Architecture, but also financial and tax benefits to the donor and his or her family.

Beneficiary Designation

You can make the UH Foundation, for the benefit of the School of Architecture, the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or a qualified retirement plan such as an IRA, a 401(k), or a 403(b).

Memorial & Honorary Gifts

A gift in memory of a loved one is a powerful way to perpetuate the values and ideals of someone’s life. Honorary gifts commemorate a significant event or someone who is still alive.

You can make a testamentary gift through your will or revocable living trust by designating a percentage of your estate, a specific dollar amount, the rest and residue of your estate, or a combination of these.

Charitable Gift Annuity or Remainder Trust

You may receive lifetime income, an income tax deduction, and capital gains savings with a gift of cash or appreciated securities, or in exchange for a life-income plan such as a Charitable Gift Annuity, deferred payment Charitable Gift Annuity, or Charitable Remainder Trust.

Outright and Deferred Gift Combination

A combination of an outright gift and deferred gift enables you to start or fully endow a program or scholarship during your lifetime, and make a provision in your will or revocable living trust, or through a life-income plan, to add significantly to the endowment after you pass away.
